There are many pressing questions in the field regarding recommended practices in early childhood educational settings and in conducting screening and evaluations with this population of children. This training is designed to answer practical questions about evaluation procedures and interventions that best support young Dual Language Learners by:
  • Examining the role of language proficiency in eligibility determination
  • Exploring the role of native language support and the key components of bilingual acquisition
  • Discussing how to effectively work with interpreters and actively involve families
