An engaging professional development seminar and a great networking opportunity open to all language educators.

Words and Actions: Teaching Languages Through the Lens of Social Justice (K-16)

In this workshop, Cassandra Glynn, who has experience teaching at the high school and university level, will give examples of a social justice oriented curriculum and how it can benefit all students. In this workshop, Cassandra will focus on adapting common textbook topics to incorporate themes of social justice.  Participants are encouraged to bring textbooks they use in their own classrooms with students.  Presentation will be in English, with examples in multiple languages and at various levels. In addition to the general discussion, language-specific tables will be available to provide opportunity to engage with seminar topic in various languages.
