Team Teaching with Mother Nature

  • February 07, 2015

  • MDE, Roseville

Have you ever wanted to bring the outdoors to your classroom and engage your students in practical learning that addresses standards?

The Jeffers Foundation is offering a wonderful opportunity as you begin the school year.

On February 7th from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM, the team from Jeffers Foundation will present “Team Teaching with Mother Nature”,  a hands-on workshop for teachers and those working with students at all levels interested in a better understanding of educational programs  and opportunities to integrate environmental and outdoor education into multiple content and program areas.

The training emphasizes enhancing observational skills, journaling as a multidisciplinary tool and successful strategies for outdoor learning. Teachers who participate in the training receive Jeffers Journals for each of their students each year as they continue to teach outdoors.  If several teachers from a school attend, the school receives a class set of "exploration" LooKits, consisting of a magnifier, a tape measure, a thermometer and a lanyard in a transparent pouch.

The workshop will be held at Minnesota Department of Education Conference Center A, Room 14.

There is no cost to attend; lunch will be provided by the Jeffers Foundation.

Registration is required and attendance is limited.
Registration ends January 30.
